Barbara has been a partner in Miller Johnson (formerly known as Oborn & Johnson) since 1994, and is now the sole director. Miller Johnson Limited is a leading chartered accountancy firm based in Takapuna on Auckland’s North Shore. Client and relationship focused with a genuine desire to help clients achieve short and long-term business and financial goals, the firm’s focus is on providing professional accounting services that are valuable, practical, effective and timely. While Barbara’s particular interests are in business and trust management, and CFO services to clients, the entire Miller Johnson team are well-versed in taxation, business and software services for clients. Barbara is a Mentor and a Public Practitioner under the rules of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. Outside of the office, Barbara is involved in the Rotary youth exchange program for Rotary International. Barbara is also experienced at facing challenges outside of the office. A keen tramper, Barbara is working her way through NZ’s Great Walks with a goal to walk all nine by the end of this decade. Regular pursuits outside the office involve gym, walking and friends and family.
Angela joined Miller Johnson in September 2018. With a strong background in larger organisation Administration Management and Customer Service, she is enjoying the close-knit team and getting to know all the clients.
Miller Johnson was a place of inspiration for Taylor as she started working here as the receptionist in 2012 and decided to study Accounting thereafter! Taylor graduated from AUT University in 2016 with a Bachelor in Business degree, majoring in Accounting. Her goal is to become a Chartered Accountant and she is currently continuing to study to achieve this.
Shelley is CA Qualified and during her career has spent over 10 years in Chartered Accounting - including 4 1/2 years in the 90’s at Miller Johnson (formerly Oborn & Johnson). She has since worked as the in-house accountant for several family owned businesses over the last 15 years. Her experience also includes contracting to various small businesses to help them set up their internal accounting processes and systems using MYOB and now XERO. Shelley returned part time to Miller Johnson in May 2017 to help over the busy period... and decided to stay!
Tianning has studied both overseas in China and in New Zealand. She joined Miller Johnson at the end of 2017 and is currently studying towards her CA qualification. Tianning is also part of Toastmasters International and has been appointed as the Sergeant at Arms for 2019.
In 2017 Jerome completed his Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting and Finance. He has been working at Miller Johnson since February 2018 and continues to further his studies so that he can complete his CA qualification. Outside of work, Jerome really enjoys playing Badminton and spending time with his children.
Edwin began his career at Miller Johnson in September 2018. He graduated from the University of Auckland in June 2018 with a Bachelor of Commerce and a double major in Accounting and Finance. Edwin is planning to further his studies and obtain a qualification as a Chartered Accountant. Edwin’s interests also include Badminton and he often competes in tournaments.
